Delete your Ayn account

This page explains how to permanently delete your account on Ayn (Ayn Social Network), and lets you request deletion without signing in.

Method 1 — Delete from inside the Ayn app

If you can still sign in, this is the fastest way:

1. Open Ayn and go to your Profile
2. Open Settings
3. Choose Privacy
4. Tap Delete Account and confirm

Method 2 — Request deletion from the web

If you cannot sign in, request deletion here. To protect your account from being deleted by someone else, Ayn emails a 6-digit confirmation code to the account’s email address. Your account is only deleted after you enter that code.

What happens when your Ayn account is deleted

These take effect immediately and are guaranteed:

• You are signed out everywhere and every existing session stops working at once.
• You can no longer sign in with that account.
• Your username and email address cannot be used to open a new account.
• Deletion is permanent. It cannot be undone by you, and Ayn will not reverse it on request.

Data categories affected

An Ayn account can hold: account and profile information (name, username, display name, email address, date of birth, profile photo, cover photo, bio and profile settings); content you created (posts, Moments, Hekaya, comments and media you uploaded); activity records (likes, follows, Favorites and views); your messages; and, if you used El Khan, your marketplace listings, orders and reviews.

What happens to each of these after deletion is governed by the Ayn Privacy Policy and is summarised below. Ayn does not claim that every record listed above is erased immediately.

What may be retained, and why

As stated in the Ayn Privacy Policy, after deletion:

• your profile may no longer be visible;
• your content may be deleted or anonymized;
• some information may remain in backups temporarily;
• messages may remain visible to recipients;
• orders, bookings, payments, marketplace records, reviews, and dispute records may be retained as needed;
• reports and safety records may be retained;
• legal or compliance records may be retained.

Ayn retains these records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce its agreements, protect user safety, and maintain business records.

Retention period

Ayn does not publish a single fixed retention period. As described under “How Long We Keep Information” in the Privacy Policy, retention depends on the type of information: account information is kept while your account is active; logs are kept for a limited period unless needed for security, fraud or legal reasons; and backups may retain deleted data for a limited period before deletion cycles complete.

Verification

Ayn requires you to confirm ownership of the account’s email address before deleting it. This protects your account from being deleted by someone else. Ayn will never ask you for your password on this page.
